      A message from a Raktrak user…

Random acts of kindness is addicting.  We set out yesterday and had some fun.  At the end of our adventure a couple of kids were chanting one more, let's do one more.  It was a good experience.  With 5 kid's all wanting to do their own thing they worked together really well.  We lost the video however and trying to work it out.  We have the disc but for some reason can't pull up the images.  Kenny's going to keep working on it, I would hate to loose all that so pray with us.

The first stop was F.O.R. food bank.  It was already getting busy (people were sitting in their cars at 8:30 waiting for them to open at 10:00)  when we arrived and I didn't want the kids to hang out there too long so we dropped in and out.  Kids brought doughnuts/muffins for the volunteers and they seemed very thankful.  When I got back to the van noticed the actual Rak Trak card fell out or was dropped.  So they received the card without actual Trak.  We gave each person a thank you card and an explanation of RakTrac, so they got the picture just not the card.  However they did received a good random act of kindness from the kids!  Actually one of the volunteers just called me as I'm typing this to thank us for what the kids had done.  We were busy yesterday and I noticed I missed a call without a voice mail but didn't recognize the number.  LeAnn mentioned that was her, she didn't want to leave a message and wanted to personally thank the kids.  Awesome

Then we went to the Police Station where we caught up with a police woman who walked us in and introduced the kids to the Assistant Chief.  He was great with the kids and a Sergeant came in and talked to them as well.  We gave them goodies and a thank you note including the Rak.  I noticed the officer with a big grin walking the cookies to the other portable...I'm thinking that's where all the other officers were at.  Kenny told me the guys always enjoy when food comes in like that.

Next stop was the veterinarian.  We had a few of those big sunflowers to pass out so we let Regan give one to the vet.  She loves animals and really wanted to say thank you.  She also gave a note thanking her for taking care of the animals.  The kids did good explaining about random acts of kindness.  Very sweet.  The veterinarian was all smiles when we left.

We were driving out of the parking lot then I pointed out the garbage truck driver.  In sink they screamed let's follow him!  So we did, we followed him into McDonalds parking lot.  Pretty funny, the kids were excited to see him at work.  He saw me video taping him and was all smiles, he came over and Megan gave him a thank you card, RakTrak and a gift card to Starbucks.  Kenny received a bunch of these from work at Christmas and had some left over so we donated one.  We added that in with a thank you note.

Then we had one sunflower left and the kids wanted to go to Tutor Time.  They had an awesome lady there who the kids gave a flower to and a card.  She asked what this was all about and they explained they were out doing random acts of kindness.  She gave them each a hug and said "you mean you choose me to do something nice for?"  Then she told me "I better go pay it forward then".  She was so good with he kids and that was a fun place to end.

      This really is addicting!

      Why RakTrak.com?

Yes. Everyday hundreds of people are losing their homes to foreclosure. Yes. Large employers are laying-off thousands of employees. Yes. The news has little to report beyond the heart ache, hopelessness, violence and depravity that surrounds us. But, I know that good things are happening. I know that there are positive things to be reported and I know that there are people who need to be reminded of that. Great things are happening today. Communities in need are coming together to support one another. Individuals are pausing long enough to empower, encourage, and enrich one another’s lives. Raktrak gives us an opportunity to sensationalize something positive for a change by showing how one Random Act of Kindness can span not only a county but possibly the world.

I pray that with each kind act, hearts WILL be inspired to set kindness in motion.

      This is an express train

But as we talked, I had this horrible pit in my stomach. You should take her home, a little voice said. Her town was barely half an hour away from the train station stop by car. It didn’t make sense to drive her fifteen minutes to another train station just to make her spend 80 minutes on a train. It made even less sense to have her stay at the first train station, waiting over 2 hours for the next train to come. The only plans Erik and I had were to go home and eat boxed Indian food from Trader Joe’s.

      Thanks for the donation

imageLast week we received our first monetary donation to help us with the cost of building raktrak better. We want to personally thank them for their generosity. They said they “believed in what we were doing”, and that means a lot to us. The donation has already been put to great use preparing us for the big launch coming soon. Thanks again to everyone that supports this cause of setting kindness in motion.

Kindness will help economy, homeless woman’s rescuer says

(CNN)—Acts of kindness will help pull the nation through its economic crisis, according to the woman who came to the rescue of a homeless Floridian who publicly appealed to President Obama.

Chene Thompson, the wife of state Rep. Nicholas Thompson, R-Fort Myers, is letting Henrietta Hughes and her son stay in a house she owns in nearby La Belle rent free until they get back on their feet.

“You don’t have to be a politician to put forth a stimulus package,” Chene Thompson said during a joint interview with Hughes Thursday on CNN’s “American Morning.” “This is our own little mini-stimulus package for a person who was a stranger and now is a friend.
